McLaren driver Lando Norris will hope to keep up with the pace set by Oscar Piastri at the top of the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers’ standings heading into the
Hungarian Grand Prix this week.
Norris was unable to make it three wins on the spin in Belgium this past weekend after his impressive showings at both the Austrian and British Grand Prix.
The talented British driver was placed on Hard tyres after the soggy weather subsided, but struggled to find grip toward the end of the race.
However, Norris expressed that he would have remained on the back foot in comparison to his teammate, even if he had minimized his mistakes on the track.
"I didn't have the best Turn One," Norris said.
"So it's hard to know how much that played a part. At the same time, Oscar came past me pretty easily. So even if I had a better Turn One, his run and the slipstream probably still would have got me."
With McLaren allowing their drivers free reign to race for the title, Norris currently sits on 250 points in second place on the standings.
Piastri and Norris’ dominance this season has help McLaren a great deal on the Constructors list, and are well on course to bag the team accolade of 2025.
